Associations Between Job Satisfaction and Employment Protection in Selected European Union Countries

Purpose: The article aims to present and discuss associations between the strictness of employment protection (EP) job satisfaction. It also answer research question if higher EP is inversely correlated with lower satisfaction across selected European Union-OECD (EU-OECD) member countries. Approach/Methodology/Design: article's theoretical part discusses links based on studied literature. In methodological part, EP's analysis sub-indicators (OECD) satisfaction, including cohorts (Eurostat), performed. EU-OECD countries were grouped into 3 clusters from sub-indices' perspective analyzed using characteristics. Besides taxonomic methods, Pearson-correlation identify relationships was calculated. Findings: Three groups different characterized levels. group strictest reported lowest level conversely. significant negative Pearson correlation proved this kind relationship. Practical Implications: brings valuable conclusions about association reveals labor market policy implications towards flexibility a low risk being unemployed increase by vulnerable (such as old women) more strongly related Originality/Value: results conducted complement current scientific interest in field both: overall life (psychological well-being dimensions life) security (employment legislation).
